A Dublin office building is leading the way on sustainability by demonstrating how retrofitted commercial properties can achieve class-leading reductions in energy demand while retaining much of their original structure and skin.
1 Cumberland Place (1CP) is a high-profile office building in central Dublin owned by Hibernia Real Estate Group. The Group has invested significantly in upgrading 1CP to class-leading sustainability standards in a process that began in 2016 and has involved detailed monitoring of how the building works and what changes are required to ultimately reach net zero carbon.
Hibernia commissioned RKD to research and produce a case study report documenting the decarbonisation journey to date for 1CP, and the subsequent improvement in 1CP’s energy performance.
